Rita El-Sokhon is an actuary with over 22 years of experience in the Lebanese insurance sector. She is a certified actuary with the French Institute of Actuaries and serves as a member of its jury and qualification committee.

Since 2022, Rita has been the President of the Lebanese Actuarial Association (LAA), which is a member of the International Actuarial Association (IAA).

She served in various senior positions before moving to her current position as the Chief Operating and Actuarial Officer at Bancassurance SAL, a leading insurance company in Lebanon, where she has been working since 2004. As a member of its C-suite, she plays a proactive role in developing and executing the company’s business strategy.

Beyond her corporate role, Rita serves on the advisory board at Notre Dame University (NDU) and lectures in actuarial sciences at top universities in Lebanon, including NDU, Saint Joseph University (USJ), and the Lebanese University. She is a jury member at these universities.

Previously, she worked as an actuary at i.e. Muhanna & Co. Actuarial Services and one of the oldest insurance companies in Lebanon, Al-Ittihad Al-Watani. These roles helped her expand her knowledge, expertise, and professional network in the MENA region and Europe.

Rita holds a BS in Actuarial Sciences from NDU, a master’s degree, and an actuarial diploma from ISFA. She has also earned several certificates, including the Corporate Directors Certificate from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
